Meet Our Principal
Principal
Rubinna Sanchez
I am a proud product of Dallas ISD, having attended schools in the district from elementary all the way through high school. Graduating from Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts, I embarked on a journey of education that has spanned 25 years. I am a first-generation college student having earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the University of Texas at Arlington. I am married to an educator and have 2 children; my son is in college earning his degree in Kinesiology for education, while my daughter is a high school student at Dallas ISD.
My dedication to serving students within Dallas ISD has been unwavering for two decades. Beginning as a Bilingual Teacher at Amelia Earhart Learning Center, I later transitioned to Cedar Hill ISD where I took on the role of Assistant Principal. Through the Principal fellow’s program, I returned to Dallas and was eventually promoted to Principal of Julius Dorsey Elementary.
One of my core beliefs is in providing equal opportunities for all students to explore their potential. Over the course of 9 years, I have been deeply involved in enhancing the educational landscape of the Pleasant Grove Community. At Julius Dorsey, I spearheaded the transformation into a leadership academy that nurtures young minds through community service. As the Proud Principal of Young Women's STEAM Academy, I continue to champion the values of inspiring young girls to embrace their potential and become confident leaders in our society.
I am humbled to have the opportunity to give back to the community that laid my educational foundation. It is a privilege to assist the young ladies at Young Women’s STEAM Academy. I am a firm advocate for empowering girls and believe that every young woman deserves encouragement to find her voice and lead with confidence.
