How To Apply

At the Young Women’s STEAM Academy at Balch Springs, we challenge and equip young women with the critical skills necessary for college and career success. We prepare and motivate our students to pursue preparation for careers in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), and we develop confident learners through our core values of Growth, Innovation, Responsibility, Leadership and Service. Through an integrated arts curriculum, exposure to a rigorous curriculum in science, math, and technology, and a schoolwide focus on leadership, we develop well-rounded female scholars who will positively impact their communities and the world. For the students at the Young Women’s STEAM Academy at Balch Springs, each day brings a new and exciting challenge in learning. Through immersion in integrated coursework, meaningful leadership opportunities, and social-emotional support, our school inspires innovative thinkers, cultivates courageous risk-takers, and champions change makers. We are committed to supporting young women as they explore a wide-ranging STEAM curriculum designed to put them on a path to college. We encourage interest in highly coveted careers in industries traditionally pursued by males. Through a strong focus on building self-esteem and leadership skills, we show our students that they can open any door through effort, ingenuity and persistence.

 How to Apply?

6^th – 8^th graders who do not live in the attendance zone can apply here. 

9^th – 10^th graders who do not live in the attendance zone can apply here.
